The formal presentation of the NIS ISO 9001:2000 certificate to Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited was done at the Corporate Headquarter of the company on Friday 12th of June, 2009.Speaking at the ceremony, the chairman of the occasion, Professor Olugbile of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital said, “the company over the years has been known for good quality products both locally and internationally. He expressed his deep satisfaction for the quality of customer services and staff motivation demonstrated in the organization.”
Citation of the corporate profile of the company for the presentation of NIS ISO 9001:2000 certificate by the Standard Organization of Nigeria was done by Mrs. Mosunmola .In it she stated, “that Emzor Pharmaceuticals Industries limited has been recognized for excellent performance by numerous awards given her by different professional bodies. The company has over 60 strong brands, with Emzor Paracetamol having over 25% of the local market share on analgesic in the country.”
According to her, Emzor was subjected to vigorous audit exercises by the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON), and her quality system was adjudged to have conformed to the standards of ISO 9001:2000.
The Director General of the Standard Organization of Nigeria, Dr. John Akanya, remarked that, “he was highly delighted to be part of the remarkable occasion in which the company is celebrating the attainment of conformity to the requirement of the NIS ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Standard. By this achievement, the company has joined the lofty class of certified companies in Nigeria.”
According to him, “an organization without an enduring and reliable system cannot survive for long, considering the challenges posed by continual competition in the market place.”
The Managing Director of the company, Mrs. Stella Okoli, said the certification of the organization is a testimony and endorsement of the company’s products and services. She thanked Executive Director Operations, Mrs. Nkeiru Okoro, the Quality Assurance Manager, Mr. Leo Ndimele, other members of the ISO committee and members of staff for seeing the need to embark on this journey. But more importantly for putting the procedures and processes in place to make this day a reality.
She went further to thank consumers of Emzor brands within and outside the shores of the country for their faith in the company. She also used the opportunity to thank NAFDAC for their effort at eradicating fake and adulterated drugs in the country.
Speaking on behalf of the ISO committee, the Quality Assurance Manager, Mr. Leo Ndimele said, “we believe that a certified quality management system would foster confidence in our products.”
Highpoint of the ceremony was the unveiling of the NIS ISO 900I:2000 certificate by the Director General, Standard Organization of Nigeria, Dr John Akanya assisted by other dignitaries present.
The event attracted distributors, medical community, financial institutions and well wishers of the company.
